Ingredients for 4 servings:
1. 1 small onion, chopped
2. 1/4 cup butter
3. 1 lb string bean, trimmed
4. 1 clove garlic, minced
5. 1 teaspoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
6. 1 teaspoon fennel seed
7. 1/2 cup tomato sauce
8. 1/4 cup water
9. 1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
10. 1/2 teaspoon pepper, to taste
Directions:
1. Sauté the onion in butter until golden brown.
2. Add the beans to the onion and sauté, stirring constantly, until the beans turn a bright green.
3. Add the garlic through salt and pepper.
4. Simmer 30 minutes, or until beans are tender.
