Ingredients for 16 servings:
1. 2 cups low-fat buttermilk
2. 1/2 cup honey
3. 1/4 cup molasses
4. 2 teaspoons baking soda
5. 1 teaspoon salt
6. 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
7. 1/2 cup wheat germ
8. 1 cup all-purpose flour
9. 1/4 cup raisins or 1/4 cup chopped dates
10. 1/4 cup chopped nuts (I use pecans.)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Prepare a non-stick loaf pan by spraying with cooking spray.
3. Mix together all ingredients and pour into prepared pan.
4. Place pan in oven and lower oven temperature to 350 degrees.
5. Bake for 1 hour.
6. Turn loaf out on rack and cool.
7. Allow bread to cool at least 8 hours before slicing and toasting this bread.
